IAEI DPP Zakat and Waqf Development Sector, held coordination meetings and discussions in order to follow up on the study program for recommendations for the development of productive waqf Jl. Tanah Tuanku Tambusai Pekanbaru Riau on Tuesday (25/7) in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Indonesian International Islamic University (FEB UIII) Depok.
During the meeting, the feasibility of schemes and procedures that could be developed ideally for a productive waqf project with a land area of more than 7.5 hectares in the city center was discussed.
Several important points that came into focus in the discussion of the meeting apart from the Wakif and Nazhir were considering the development of productive waqf land from legal aspects, administrative status of the land, environmental and urban spatial studies, investors, and the potential for development of social and commercial objects.
Prof. Dian Masyita, Ph.D as Head of Division who is also the Dean of FEB UIII led the meeting and discussion which was attended by Dr. Banu Muhammad Deputy Head of Division, Urip Budiarto Member of Division, Wahyu Jatmiko, Ph.D Executive Secretary, Dr. Ugi Suharto, UIII Lecturer, and IAEI Secretariat.
The study on the development of productive waqf which is part of the 5th IAEI Road to Congress series, apart from being intended as a recommendation for the development of waqf land, jl. Tuanku Tambusai Pekanbaru will also be reported in the form of a Policy-Brief which can be a reference for parties - not limited to the government - to develop a productive waqf land project.
