The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) presents the August 2026 issue of the BREAKS Bulletin (Islamic Economics and Finance Research), titled “Freedom to Determine the Direction: The Future of Indonesia’s Islamic Economy.” Marking the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence, this edition invites all readers to reflect on the meaning of independence in the context of the national Islamic economy—that true independence is the courage to determine one’s own path of development, including an economic direction grounded in justice and the common good.
Beginning with a message from the IAEI Chairman, this issue features a variety of sections: “Top Highlights” and “Key Analysis,” which explore the future direction of Indonesia’s Islamic economy; “Policy Analysis” on the Green Islamic Economy, productive waqf, and sustainable development; “Expert Insight” with Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Adnan, discussing justice and wealth distribution; as well as the “Islamic Economy News and Facts” section covering Islamic financial inclusion; and an “IAEI Activity Update” for June–August 2026.
