The Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) in collaboration with PT Pegadaian successfully organized The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge (TGSC) Goes To Campus Roadshow with the theme “Young Generation Innovations Towards a Sustainable Future”, on Thursday (10/10) in the 3rd floor Rectorate Building Hall, Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram (UMMAT).
Drs. Abdul Wahab, MA, Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram, expressed his positive response to this event. For him, this cooperation can be a concrete step to strengthen the synergy between education and industry.
“The Sharia Economics Study Program at FAI UMMAT is still relatively new, but we continue to strive to develop it to produce graduates who are ready to play a role in the progress of Islamic economics in Indonesia. One of these activities will form an entrepreneurial spirit, as well as care for social and environmental issues, for students,” said Abdul Wahab.
Agus Setiawan, Business Deputy of Pegadaian Denpasar Area Office 1, invited participants to make the best use of this opportunity because there are many positive things that can be obtained. PT Pegadaian will contribute in funding, investment, and networking through organizing the TGSC competition.
“We hope this activity can give birth to young sociopreneurs who are ready to enter the business world after graduating from campus. We will also provide assistance to students so that the innovations they create can be implemented and provide benefits,” said Agus.
Furthermore, the talk show session was hosted by Zaenafi Ariani, SE, ME, a lecturer in Sharia Economics at UMMAT, discussing the importance of young generation innovation in creating creative solutions to face global challenges, especially related to social and environmental issues. Participants were encouraged to become sociopreneurs who not only pursue profits, but also have a positive impact on society.
The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge 2024 challenges students to develop innovative business ideas that can have a real social impact. PT Pegadaian and other partners are ready to provide funding and guidance for the best ideas to help students realize them.
With the implementation of The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge 2024, it is hoped that it can give birth to a young generation that is not only academically superior, but also has a leadership spirit and high social care. This is in line with UMMAT's vision to produce graduates with Islamic character, global insight, and ready to face future challenges.
The event also strengthens the relationship between academia and industry, and opens up opportunities for UMMAT students to develop their potential in the field of Islamic economics and sociopreneurship. This activity is expected to have a long-term positive impact on the development of social entrepreneurship in Indonesia.
