It is proven that TGSC 2024 was able to attract thousands of participants. A total of 810 teams with a total of 2,400 students from 104 universities, spread across 23 provinces and 60 cities / regencies, have competed with each other to become the best team. The ten finalist teams selected received intensive training to strengthen their knowledge in social entrepreneurship. With direct guidance from experts, the finalists learned about marketing strategies to sustainable business management. The finalists also had the opportunity to present their business proposals in front of the jury and invited guests. From technological innovations to innovations on local community empowerment, the guests were mesmerized by each business work displayed.
After the presentations, the three best teams managed to attract the attention of the jury. The three teams were Econella Team from the University of Indonesia as the first winner, Minatara Team from Gadjah Mada University as the second winner, and Sparkle Team from Hasanuddin University as the third winner. They took home awards and business funds to develop their businesses.
Team Econella, for example, made a bioadditive product made from leftover fragrant lemongrass and clove leaves. These raw materials, which are usually discarded by farmers, are developed into value-added products. This product has proven effective in improving the quality of diesel fuel while reducing fuel consumption by up to 25 percent. In fact, laboratory tests show that this product can reduce carbon emissions by 36 percent.
“We have produced this product in Pinrang, South Sulawesi. We hope this business can continue to grow and benefit more farmers,” said Imam Risky from the UI Faculty of Economics and Business, after receiving an award at the TGSC 2024 Awarding Ceremony.
It is hoped that TGSC will continue to support sustainable economic growth, community empowerment, and financial inclusion in Indonesia.
