In order to improve Islamic economic literacy, the Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian Islamic Economists Association (DPP IAEI) expanded the management network by forming a Commissariat at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) Purwokerto for the 2022-2026 Period on Friday (13/5), at the Integrated Laboratory Auditorium Lt. 6 Faculty of Business Economics Unsoed.
The inauguration ceremony began with the reading of the DPP IAEI decision letter by Wahyu Jatmiko, Ph.D as IAEI Executive Secretary, followed by the inauguration procession of the board by Astera Primanto Bhakti, as Secretary General of IAEI. Through this inauguration, the management of IAEI Commissariat of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman for the period 2022-2026 has officially carried out the mandate in the management of the organisation.
Prof. Wiwiek Rabiatul Adawiyah, M.Sc, Ph.D as Chairperson of the IAEI Unsoed Commissariat in her speech said that the momentum of this inauguration is a mandate which must then be carried out with full sincerity. This is also a role that needs to be carried out by the board as an agent of change, with the aim that the syiar of Islamic economics can continue to spread throughout the social life of the community through its human resources.
The Rector of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Shodiq, M.Sc. Agr. said that the main key of an association is its vision and mission in order to achieve common goals. The ideal thing that can be done is to make a roadmap as a responsibility according to each field. He also hopes that the formation of IAEI Unsoed can have a positive impact on the level of students, universities, and all elements of society.
Astera Primanto Bhakti as Secretary General of IAEI said that the formation of IAEI which has been established for almost 2 decades brings great ideals for Islamic economics experts. This economic science means entering into all instruments of life, especially coupled with sharia. In addition, IAEI enters into a highly integrated network of all levels that are closely related to Islamic economics and of course with a collaborative nature, both from among scholars, academics, and Islamic economic experts. As directed by Mrs Sri Mulyani Indrawati, as Chairperson of IAEI, is how we do not dichotomise the general economy and sharia economy. This is because in our daily lives there are many activities that are carried out according to sharia but do not use the term sharia. It is our duty to spread the word to the community.
"Let's work together to be istiqomah to run the existing programme, we at the centre will continue to provide support. Don't let the momentum of this inauguration just finish. Especially seeing that Indonesia halal food is in the top 10 in the world, then Indonesia Muslim fashion is in the top 5 in the world, while on the other hand the unfortunate thing is that our market is still limited in terms of supply due to lack of literacy. This is our role to make a breakthrough so that public understanding of Islamic economics is getting better. Hopefully we can see something new related to Islamic economics from Purwokerto." - Astera Primanto Bhakti, Secretary General of IAEI.
