The Central Leadership Council of the Association of Indonesian Islamic Economic Experts (IAEI) in collaboration with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) successfully held the IAEI National Gathering and Seminar on Regional Infrastructure Financing with Sharia Schemes, on Wednesday (22/11) in the Mezzanine Hall, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta. The agenda, which was attended by the Indonesian Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati as General Chair of IAEI, raised the theme "Regional Infrastructure Financing with Sharia Schemes".
The General Chairperson of IAEI stated that current world conditions are not good, especially due to uncertain changes in the world economy. We need a lot of adaptation and learning as part of our efforts to create a country that is Baldatun Thayyibatun Wa Rabbun Ghafur, which can be interpreted as a country that collects the goodness of nature and the good behavior of its people. For this reason, it is necessary to make good efforts in infrastructure development to create prosperity and justice for the country.
“The pandemic has paralyzed the world economy. For this reason, one of the lifesavers in economic conditions like this is through the APBN instrument. "The APBN is a significant fiscal instrument as a bumper in times of economic crisis, one of which is the state of economic recovery due to COVID-19," he said.
The recovery effort has not been easy. This is because the world economy was shaken by various geopolitical tensions, such as the Russia-Ukraine war in early 2023 and the Israel-Palestine war. The impact of this phenomenon is that inflation soars high and has an effect on reducing people's purchasing power. For this reason, Mrs. Sri Mulyani emphasized the important role of the APBN and APBD in responding to world economic turmoil. The APBN and APBD are instruments for achieving justice and prosperity in the development of a nation. For this reason, state and regional officials need to understand good management of the APBN and APBD.
Meanwhile, IAEI in this case has a role in helping and guiding regions to understand the substance of financial instruments in the APBD to be able to answer development problems in the regions. IAEI has a role in building central and regional synergy in order to accelerate national development and achieve the initial goal, namely to become a country that is Baldatun Thayyibatun Wa Rabbun Ghafur.
"Hopefully this meeting will be a link and strengthen the ties of friendship and synergy of IAEI members which have been very well established so far and will give birth to the best innovations to develop Indonesia." Sri Mulyani Indrawati, General Chair of IAEI/Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.
