The Regional Executive Board (DPW) of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) in the United States was officially inaugurated for the 2026–2031 term. The inauguration ceremony was held virtually during the welcome dinner as part of the International Islamic Economics Conference in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday (July 15).

The inauguration ceremony proceeded solemnly, beginning with opening remarks, followed by the reading of the IAEI Central Executive Board’s Decree regarding the Composition of the U.S. Regional Executive Board for the 2026–2031 term by Dr. Ahmad Akbar Susamto, Chair of the Committee on Regional Development and Strengthening and the Branch Office. The inauguration ceremony and the administration of the oath of office were then presided over directly by IAEI Deputy Chairman Prof. Irfan Syauqi Beik, officially marking the installation of the new leadership.

In his remarks, Prof. Irfan Syauqi Beik stated that this inauguration represents a significant milestone for IAEI’s presence on the global stage. Prof. Irfan emphasized his high hopes that the new leadership will be able to actively contribute to advancing Islamic economics, both nationally and internationally, while strengthening collaborative networks between the diaspora of Indonesian Islamic economists and the global community.

“I hope the new leadership will continue to actively contribute to advancing Islamic economics, while strengthening collaboration with the diaspora and the global community,” said Prof. Irfan.

The IAEI U.S. Regional Chapter leadership for the 2026–2031 term is led by Arif Mustofa as Chair of the IAEI U.S. Regional Chapter, accompanied by Prio Pujiwasono as Vice Chair, Endang Setiawati as Secretary, and Emil Ranakusuma as Treasurer. Arif Mustofa, as Chair, expressed his gratitude and readiness to carry out this mandate together with the newly inaugurated executive board members.

“We accept this mandate with deep gratitude and a sense of responsibility. Moving forward, we will focus on strengthening programs that bring IAEI closer to Islamic economics professionals and academics in the United States, while also expanding our collaborative networks with international institutions,” said Arif Mustofa.

This inauguration marks a new chapter for the IAEI U.S. Regional Chapter in strengthening the organization’s role on the international stage, particularly in promoting the development of Islamic economics and finance, expanding academic networks, and deepening collaboration between Indonesian Islamic economists in the United States and the global community.
