The Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) together with the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business (FEBI) of State Islamic University (UIN) Ar Raniry Banda Aceh held the Aceh Summer School in Islamic Business, Economics and Finance (ASSIBEF) 2024 with the theme “Embracing Techno-sociopreneurship for Sustainable Development and Community Welfare” on April 29 to May 3, 2024 in Banda Aceh and Sabang, Indonesia. The organization of ASSIBEF was also supported by Bank Indonesia Aceh Representative Office and Bank Syariah Indonesia Aceh Region, which was attended by participants from academic lecturers and students from several Indonesian universities, Thai universities represented by Yala Rajabhat University and Malaysian universities represented by Universiti Malaya.
Vice Rector I for Academic and Institutional Affairs of FEBI UIN Ar Raniry, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yasir Yusuf, S.Ag., M.A. opened the ASSIBEF 2024 agenda. He expressed his appreciation for the implementation of ASSIBEF and can provide benefits to the participants and can continue to be held in the following years.
The agenda, which was held for 5 days, had various series of events to enrich the knowledge and experience of participants in the field of Economics, Finance and Islamic Business through International Short Course, International Student Competition and also International Community Service on Sabang Island.
The ASSIBEF 2024 International Short Course agenda held at the Aceh Representative Office of Bank Indonesia presented competent speakers representing academics, industry practitioners and government from leading institutions in Indonesia and internationally. Dr. Luqyan Tamanni from BSI Institute delivered material on “Financial Sustainability in Emerging Market for Techno-Sociopreneurship”, Azizon, SE., M.Sc from IAEI delivered material on “Empowering the Role of Generation Z by Strengthening Islamic Technopreneurship”, Dr. Hendra Syahputra from FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry delivered material on “Optimizing Big Data Analysis for Techno-Sociopreneurship in Sustainable Economic Development” and Assistant Professor. Abbas Paliket from Yala Rajabhat University, Thailand delivered material on “Techno-Sociopreneurship for Sustainable Development and Community Welfare”.
The agenda continued with the International Student Competition held at Landmark BSI Aceh which competed in various competitions attended by students from various universities in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, including Business Plan, Essay Writing, Article Review, Photography, Video Blog and Poster related to the theme of Techno-Sociopreneurship.
The ASSIBEF 2024 Agenda was closed with a field-trip program held on Sabang Island. In addition to learning and promoting Indonesian tourism, culinary and culture in Sabang Island, ASSIBEF participants were also warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Sabang who also appreciated the organization of the ASSIBEF 2024 agenda and gained insight into the potential development of the economic sector on Sabang Island as one of Indonesia's national borders.
