The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) officially inaugurated the executive board of the IAEI East Kalimantan Regional Executive Board at the Grand Sawit Hotel in Samarinda on Thursday (October 15). This inauguration marks a step toward strengthening the organization’s efforts to promote the development of Islamic economics and finance, as well as to expand the contributions of academics and practitioners to regional economic development.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by IAEI Deputy Chairman Prof. Irfan Syauqi Beik, and the Decree (SK) appointing the leadership was read by Dr. Erika Takidah from the Division of Organizational Development, Regional Guidance, and Branch Offices. The IAEI East Kalimantan Regional Executive Board is led by Prof. Dr. Hj. Darmawati, M.Hum., along with 21 board members tasked with carrying out the organization’s mandate across 13 areas of responsibility.
This new executive board is expected to strengthen internal coordination and synergy with various stakeholders in developing the potential of Islamic economics in East Kalimantan. These efforts can be realized through strategic programs focused on improving Islamic economic literacy, developing human resources, and expanding partnerships with universities, the government, and related institutions.
As an organization that brings together academics, practitioners, and advocates of Islamic economics, IAEI plays a key role in bridging academic development with community needs and regional development. Through this network, IAEI is expected to promote research, education, and collaboration that support the strengthening of the Islamic economic and financial ecosystem.
This inauguration also marks the beginning of the IAEI East Kalimantan Regional Executive Board’s efforts to translate the organization’s mandate into focused and sustainable work programs. By strengthening cross-sector collaboration, IAEI is expected to help drive inclusive, competitive regional economic growth grounded in Islamic principles.
