The Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) in collaboration with PT Pegadaian successfully organized The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge (TGSC) Goes To Campus Roadshow themed “Young Generation Innovations Towards a Sustainable Future”, on Tuesday (22/10) at the Hall of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Manado.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rajafi, M.H.I., Chancellor of IAIN Manado, said this event really motivates students to help create sustainable innovative solutions through entrepreneurship. IAIN Manado has a Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business which is related to this TGSC activity. Students from various universities in Manado also felt the spirit of learning entrepreneurship through the TGSC event.
“Through this event, it is hoped that students will gain knowledge and be motivated to become entrepreneurs. Also get to know more about the conception of Islamic economics,” said Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rajafi, M.H.I.
Rinaldy, Business Deputy of Pegadaian Manado Area Office 1, expressed his gratitude to IAIN Manado, especially stakeholders, who have helped make TGSC activities a success. It is hoped that this activity can help students in realizing their ideas into sustainable businesses.
“I would like to thank the rector of IAIN Manado, the speakers, and all the students who are present today. We hope that in 2024 we can do a lot of work with the campus and related stakeholders,” said Rinaldy.
The event continued with an interactive discussion session by presenting experienced and very inspiring speakers. The speakers were Cut Erika Ananda Fatimah, M.B.A from the Social Entrepreneurship Development and Community Empowerment Division of DPP IAEI; Bambang Marsidi, Co-owner of Zabay Collection Batik and Fashion Crafts; and Chery Jufry Wowor from Marketing Business to Business PT Pegadaian Kanwil Manado.
Participants were very enthusiastic to ask the speakers directly about the challenges and opportunities in starting a sustainable social business.
“We want to inspire students to think creatively and dare to take steps in entrepreneurship,” said the IAEI representative.
The roadshow to IAIN Manado is also one of PT Pegadaian's agendas with IAEI to introduce TGSC 2024 to students throughout Indonesia. The goal is to assist students in running a sustainable social business, both in terms of financing and intensive mentoring. Also, it is expected to encourage students to innovate so that bright ideas are born that are able to answer existing social and environmental issues.
