The Chairman and all members of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) expressed their congratulations and best wishes to the new leadership of the Indonesian National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), who have been officially inaugurated for their new term under the leadership of Dr. Ir. Sodik Mudjahid.
In his statement, Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, MA, as Chairman of IAEI, expressed his hope that the new BAZNAS leadership will carry out their duties with full professionalism, transparency, and dedication in managing national zakat. "We hope that the new leadership can continue to strengthen BAZNAS's strategic role as the primary zakat management institution, so that it can provide broader, sustainable benefits and have a real impact on the welfare of the people," said Prof. Nasaruddin.
Furthermore, IAEI also expressed its highest appreciation and gratitude to the previous leadership and management of BAZNAS, led by Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA, for their dedication, devotion, and significant contributions to strengthening national zakat governance. Various achievements in improving zakat collection, distribution, and innovation in community empowerment programs are considered to be an important foundation for the future development of zakat in Indonesia.
The Indonesian Association of Islamic Scholars (IAEI) believes that continuity of leadership at BAZNAS (National Zakat Agency) is a key factor in maintaining public trust and encouraging the optimization of national zakat potential as an instrument for Islamic economic development. Moving forward, the synergy between BAZNAS and IAEI is expected to grow stronger, particularly in strengthening literacy, research, and the development of Islamic economic policies.
Special congratulations were extended to several leaders who also serve on the IAEI Board of Directors: Mr. Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi, Mr. Rizaluddin Kurniawan, Ms. Saidah Sakwan, Mr. Mokhamad Mahdum, and Mr. Mochamad Agus Rofiudin, who are currently serving as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of BAZNAS RI for the 2026-2031 period.
In closing, IAEI prays that all new BAZNAS leadership will always be given ease and blessings in carrying out their mandate, and be able to bring innovation and inspiration for the realization of the welfare of the people and the progress of the sharia economy in Indonesia.
