The Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) held the IAEI Golf Charity 2026 at the Rainbow Hills Golf Club in Sentul on Sunday (July 12). This program served as a strategic networking event that combined sports, collaboration, and social responsibility. The event provided a strategic platform bringing together regulators, academics, industry leaders, practitioners, and Islamic finance partners to strengthen collaboration while delivering tangible benefits to the community through a charity program providing financial assistance to orphaned children.
IAEI Chairman, Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, emphasized that the Golf Charity event exemplifies the transformation of a sporting activity into an Islamic philanthropic movement that prioritizes the values of compassion, solidarity, and the spirit of ta’awun (mutual assistance in doing good). According to him, this event demonstrates that inclusive Islamic values can be implemented in various modern activities to bring broader benefits to society.
“Golf for Charity is not merely a sporting event or a platform for professional networking. More than that, this event is an Islamic philanthropic movement that brings the spirit of ta’awun to life through concrete action. Through collaboration among all stakeholders, we want to ensure that every sense of togetherness we build not only strengthens synergy but also delivers benefits that are directly felt by the community, especially orphaned children,” said Prof. Nasaruddin Umar.
The Chairman explained that the Islamic economy is not merely about developing the Islamic finance sector or the halal industry, but rather constitutes an ecosystem aimed at achieving equitable prosperity. Within this ecosystem, Islamic philanthropy through zakat, infak, sedekah, and wakaf (ZISWAF) plays a strategic role as an instrument that strengthens social protection and community empowerment. Therefore, the spirit of sharing embodied by the IAEI Golf Charity is part of the effort to optimize the values of the Islamic economy in community life.
Through this event, IAEI also underscores the importance of sustained collaboration among academics, regulators, industry, and the community as the foundation for accelerating the development of Indonesia’s Islamic economy. This cross-sectoral synergy is expected not only to generate various ideas and innovations but also to produce programs that have a tangible impact on society.
As part of this commitment, the IAEI Golf for Charity 2026 series also included the distribution of aid to orphaned children. This program symbolizes that every collaboration built within the Islamic economic ecosystem must be oriented toward the greater good and deliver benefits that can be felt by the broader community.
“We believe that strengthening the Islamic economy can only be achieved through solid collaboration among stakeholders. May every step, every swing, and every act of compassion built today become part of our collective effort to bring blessings, strengthen brotherhood, and realize the common good for the ummah,” concluded Prof. Nasaruddin Umar.
Through the IAEI Golf Charity 2026, IAEI hopes that the spirit of collaboration, philanthropy, and social responsibility will continue to grow as part of strengthening Indonesia’s Islamic economic ecosystem—one that is inclusive, just, and sustainable.
