The Indonesian Islamic Economist Association (IAEI) strengthens its commitment in developing the sharia economic ecosystem through the inauguration of the Central Java IAEI Regional Leadership Council (DPW) which was held at the State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga, Wednesday (14/10). This inauguration is part of the International Conference on Eco-Theology, Digital Economy and Environmental Sustainability (ICEDEES) 2026 series.
Head of Organizational Development, Regional Development and Commissariat, Prof. Jajang W. Mahri, in his speech highlighted the rapid development of the sharia economy in Indonesia in recent decades.
"Sharia economic growth is the result of a joint contribution, including universities, academics, and organizations that consistently encourage the development of Islamic science and economic practices," said Prof. Jajang.
Prof. Jajang also emphasized the importance of strengthening cross-sectoral collaboration, including the role of universities in expanding and encouraging the development of an inclusive sharia economy. Strengthening study programs, research, and academic collaboration is part of the effort to build a more comprehensive sharia economy ecosystem.
In this context, IAEI has a strategic role as a forum that brings together academics and practitioners to jointly develop the economy, finance, business, and philanthropy of Islam.
Furthermore, Prof. Jajang sees that Central Java has great potential to strengthen the development of the national sharia economy.
"Central Java has great potential to strengthen the national sharia economy, not only from the population, but also from the wealth of Islamic history, culture, tourism, and culinary that can be developed into a community economic strength," added Prof. Jajang.
The inauguration procession of the Central Java DPW IAEI Management was led by Prof. Jajang W. Mahri, and Dr. Patria Yunita, read the inauguration decree (SK). This momentum marks the strengthening of the role of the IAEI organization at the regional level as well as being the beginning for the management to carry out the mandate in expanding the contribution of the sharia economy in Central Java.
The existence of regional administrators and IAEI commissariats is expected to strengthen the joint movement in developing the sharia economy at the regional level as well as expanding its contribution to the national economy.
