The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Association of Indonesian Islamic Economic Experts (IAEI) together with the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) of the State Islamic University (UIN) Alauddin held a Guest Lecture, Islamic Economics Teaching Materials and the Inauguration of IAEI Management throughout Sulawesi on Wednesday (25 /10) in the FEBI Hall of UIN Alauddin Makassar. The seminar was attended by no less than 300 participants from various circles, academics, practitioners and government representatives in the Sulawesi region. Through the theme "Development of an Islamic Economics Teaching Materials Framework to Strengthen Superior and Globally Competitive Human Resources" it is hoped that it can encourage efforts to create superior human resources through increasing the competency of teaching staff and a framework of teaching materials that suit needs, so as to produce a generation that is superior and competitive in in the field of Islamic economics in order to achieve Indonesia's dream of becoming the world's Islamic economic and financial center.
Deputy General Chair VI of IAEI who is also the Dean of FEM IPB University, Mr. Dr. Irfan Syauqi Beik, in his presentation, explained that strong human resources are needed for the development of the Sharia economy and the national economy in general. This is increasingly relevant considering the increasingly dynamic and uncertain world economic conditions. Even though sharia economic and financial growth is amidst global economic uncertainty, this does not mean it stands without challenges. Starting from information technology challenges such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, robotics, they have disrupted the national economic order and can also present new business models.
"Sharia economic human resources still have homework that needs to be completed in facing the challenges of massive changes in socio-economic life caused by developments over time," said Irfan Syauqi Beik.
The event was also attended by Vice Chancellor II, Mr. Dr. H. Andi Aderus, Lc., M.A., in his speech representing the Chancellor, explained that currently the world is changing and economic dynamics are also developing so that theories can also change, making it a challenge for every academic who works in the realm of Islamic economics. Meanwhile, the Dean of FEBI UIN Alauddin, Mr. Dr. Amiruddin K, M.E.I., in his speech invited all parties to collaborate in advancing the people's economy through strengthening sharia economics in society.
The event continued with the Islamic Economics Teaching Materials Workshop session series History of Islamic Economic Thought with resource person Prof. Dr. Euis Amalia, M.Ag. as Chair of Education, DPP IAEI and Prof. Dr. H. Muslimin Kara, M.Ag. as Professor of FEBI UIN Alauddin. Prof. Dr. Euis Amalia, M.Ag. in his presentation, he tells various perspectives and comparisons of the scientific history of Islamic philosophical and economic thinkers from the classical, neo-classical to contemporary times. Meanwhile Prof. Dr. H. Muslimin Kara, M.Ag. explains the importance of the history of Islamic economic thought in the implementation of current Islamic economics and finance teaching.
On the sidelines of a series of seminar activities, Deputy General Chairperson VI IAEI inaugurated 12 (twelve) Regional Leadership Councils and Commissariats throughout Sulawesi including UIN Alauddin as the host. This inauguration activity began with the reading of the decision letter delivered by Mr. Santoso Permadi, M.M. as Deputy Executive Secretary of IAEI.
