The Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian Islamic Economists Association (DPP IAEI) together with PT Pegadaian and the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB University held the Kick Off of The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge (TGSC) 2024 with the theme Young Generation Innovations Towards Sustainable Future, on Wednesday (28/8) in a hybrid manner at the Auditorium FEM IPB University.
Director of Operations and Network of PT Pegadaian, Eka Pebriansyah explained, The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge is an idea competition and social entrepreneurship incubation initiated by PT Pegadaian as an incubation forum for youth in creating social benefits through social entrepreneurship.
“Youth are encouraged to become youth sociopreneurs through business or business model innovation by seeing social problems and needs as opportunities to empower and create a sustainable impact on society,” Eka Pebriansyah explained in his presentation.
Dr. Hendri Tanjung, as the Islamic Economic Competitiveness Division representing the Secretary General of IAEI, also said that the theme raised in the 2024 TGSC was very relevant to the global challenges currently being faced.
“Today's young generation, with its creativity and enthusiasm, plays a very important role in creating innovative solutions to deal with various environmental and social issues”, said Dr. Hendri Tanjung in the opening remarks of the TGSC 2024 Kick Off.
Dean of FEM IPB University, Dr. Irfan Syauqi Beik also explained that sociopreneurship is one of the consensuses of IPB University's vision in a joint effort towards Indonesia Emas 2045. Through TGSC activities that Kick Off at IPB University can be welcomed by all students to participate in the 2024 event.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Fajrin Rasyid as Chairman of the Social Entrepreneurship Development and Community Empowerment Division of DPP IAEI in his presentation, explained that sociopreneur is a bridge between business and social to produce positive value socially and sustainable business. In addition, in producing a good business is by approaching customer needs.
“By understanding the problems or needs of customers, then we can provide solutions that are developed to answer these problems or needs,” said Fajrin Rasyid.
The gade Sociopreneurship Challenge Kick Off Program is a series of roadshow agendas going to the 10th Pegadaian and IAEI campus in universities in Indonesia. In this Roadshow, a sociopreneurship seminar was held, socialization of TGSC 2024 to increase awareness of students at the University to become young Sociopreneurs with resource persons from local Sociopreneur figures, PT Pegadaian, and IAEI Management both central and regional. Also present at this event were the academic community, lecturers, students of FEM IPB University, stakeholders, financial industry practitioners and the general public who attended more than 600 hybrid participants.
